I have some more business news to offer today:

ITM Agency and Level 10 Music, represented by Frank Suepfle and Mat Sinner, have signed a long-term management cooperation. Both companies have already managed acts like Primal Fear, U.D.O., Sinner & more!

The first signing of this new cooperation are the two 16 year old girls Daria Kips and Raquel Pastrana, simply called DARA. "DARA, is a very promising and professional act. We’re looking forward to our cooperation and a fantastic forthcoming album" says Sinner and Suepfle. DARA is produced by Wolfgang Filz (LaFee) and the songwriter team of Fitty Wienhold & Igor Gianola (U.D.O.).

The second new signing is the five-piece band "Vernissage" fronted by Gabriella and Maria Kim. „Vernissage“ is not only a band. Their music and their visual concept is outstanding and something very special. Atmosphere, guitar riffs and an extravagant visual performance are unique. March 28th, 2009 - 16.6 Cover Artwork Revealed & a lot of NEWS!
Frontiers Records proudly announces the release of PRIMAL FEAR new studio album 16.6 (Before the Devil Knows You’re Dead) on May 22nd in Europe and June 9th in the USA.

Anticipated by a successful listening session held in Cologne, Germany, attended by the cream of the European Metal press, the new album is about to bring back Primal Fear to the throne of Heavy Metal. 16.6 is easily the most powerful, ambitious and interesting album in the band’s history. The vibe of songs like the opening track “Riding The Eagle”, “Killbound” or “Under The Radar” are reminiscent of the “Nuclear Fire” album but eh whole album features all the trademarks of the Primal Fear sound a the total dedication to pure Metal. There is also a new approach mixed with the trademark PF riffs in tracks like “Six Times Dead (16.6)”, “Soar”, “Smith & Wesson” as well as the epic stories, consummate musicianship, courage and fantastic melodies in songs like “Black Rain”, “No Smoke Without Fire”, “Torn” and the stylistically new ballad “Hands Of Time” with 4 band members all sharing the lead-vocals.

“Our target was to write and produce the most diverse and interesting album in the history of Primal Fear and combine our past with the future” says Mat Sinner. ”The result went truly beyond our expectations and it will be a huge challenge to play these new songs on stage! The entire band is very proud of 16.6 and we hope all our old and even new fans will be totally satisfied!”

The album was recorded at the House Of Music studios with engineer Dennis Ward, mixing engineer Achim Koehler and producer Mat Sinner. Mastered by Ted Jensen at Sterling Sound New York. Once again Primal Fear display a very high standard of song writing, sound and production. New guitarist Magnus Karlsson and Henny Wolter shine with a new dimension to the guitar work, and lead vocalist Ralf Scheepers reaches a new level to his vocal performances. Nothing can go wrong if you’re backed by one of the best rhythm sections in metal with Randy Black and Mat Sinner and you can hear the result on Primal Fear’s outstanding new message called 16.6!

Some of the feedback gathered from the press after the listening session include:
“Primal Fear top themselves one more time again with their unique mix out of traditional Metal sounds and modern melodic power metal. How can do they that again and again?” Andreas Schöwe (Metal Hammer Germany)

"Primal Fear manages to take at least one step forward, one backward and still stand for what Primal Fear always has been standing for - pure metal." David Bergström (Sweden Rock)

“First impressions: more variety without losing the Metal balls! Fresh blood and ideas combined with the Primal Fear trademarks, outstanding vocal performance by Ralf again and great guitar work by both Magnus and Henny. Some immediate live favourites, other tracks definitely need time to grow, but sound more than promising and won't disappoint any metal fan that wants more than easy listening stuff” – Martin Römpp (Heavy! Germany)

“To date “16.6.“ is Primal Fear ‘s most diversified record; containing a spectrum from Hard Rock up to double-bass driven Power Metal Songs. But one thing is always consistent – the quality!!! – Gerald Siebenmorgen (Rock It, Germany)

"As the cover artwork shows, Primal Fear ride fiery bullets, play with demons...and fly on butterfly leaded wings. '16.6' marks the evolution of groundbreaking hard rock and power metal, filled with open-minded styles. The Devil knows they're alive!" - Filippo Pagani (Metal Hammer, Italy)

After the Primal Fear / Sinner show in Moscow on April 4th, the band will appear in Norway on April 25th at the Haugesund Festival and in some summer Festivals. More shows are being booked in South America (with Sinner) in August, USA incl. PPX and the UK in September, followed by Europe kicking off at the end of in October(with Brainstorm) plus Japan & Asia t.b.a.

S I N N E R  – playing Moscow for the first time, then Romania plus coming to Mexico, Chile, Brazil and Argentina are hot targets around the total focus on the new Primal Fear release. Anyway, it will be a big thrill for us to take the „Crash & Burn“ album in new territories! We will work on new songs and a strategy for the next album. We’re still very happy with the „Crash & Burn“ album and will to continue in this vein, attitude and vibe! Because the first Sinner unplugged show in Wuerzburg @ the end of February worked out so exciting, we ‚re planning to play a little SINNER Unplugged tour in Germany around Xmas. We plan a very special event, in spezial selected places, with great guests, the Sinner music from a different kind of view incl. a nice party - every night!

Voodoo Circle – the first live shows are done and I feel a lot of potential in this band. There’s some kind of magic on stage and all the jamming or not planned moments are really something great. We’ve already written more than 30 songs for the second album and will prepare the next recordings soon. If you live in CET, you can watch the next Voodoo Circle show on April 17th in Ingolstadt/Germany! www.voodoocircle.com

My Final Day – most of the vocals are recorded. Alex Scholpp recorded his lead guitar parts over the weekend and we will record some more of my vocal parts tomorrow. We have five songs ready in the near future and then working on the mixes at Martin Schmidt’s Audiospezialist Studio near Stuttgart. The music shapes up unbelievable cool, with cool grooves, great riffs, diverse vocals and a lot of energy. More information on the band and some song samples will be released soon on our forthcoming My Space page!!

After the Moscow show I will realize another project which is in the making for some time now. I will join the ITM Agency in Bruchsal and have a second office in the company of my friend Frank. More news on this matter soon! I’m writing songs together with Magnus for a forthcoming project of Michael Kiske and I’m doing remixes together with Matz Ulmer for a brandnew exciting band called „Dara“ – but ..... enough now J

The new Primal Fear album 16.6 (Before The Devil Knows You're Dead) is recorded & mixed! Here's the official newsmail by Frontiers Records:
Produced again by Primal Fear's own Mat Sinner and engineered & co-produced by none other than Dennis Ward (Pink Cream 69), the new Primal Fear album marks the first full comeback by guitarist Henny Wolter and the debut by one of the worldwide most respected guitarists Magnus Karlsson, since he joined the band one year ago! Wolter & Karlsson both participated in the songwriting and pre-production, which took place at Karlsson's Stuntguitar Studio in Sweden. The band recorded 4 weeks at the famous House Of Music studio incl. Randy Black (drums) and vocalist extraordinaire Ralf Scheepers. After the Xmas break the band recorded some small overdubs and started the mix with long time collaborator Achim Koehler. Finally Ted Jensen mastered the album at the Sterling Sound in New York.

The new Primal Fear album titled with the codename of “16.6” (Before The Devil Knows You're Dead) will be released in May 2009 by Frontiers Records. The new songs will include a lot of the Wolter/Sinner/Scheepers vibe from the “Nuclear Fire” album, then follow the path of “New Religion” and some real surprises! Mat Sinner comments: “I'm really proud of our work. The guys of the band and the entire team did a killer job! I love the crystal clear sound of the album and total dedication of the players. The fans of our first albums will really love the new tracks, plus there are a lot of sophisticated more stuff on 16.6 following the path of Seven Seals or New Religion“

Guitarist Henny Wolter added some notes to some song titles:
Riding The Eagle – is bringing back that Nuclear Fire vibe with a full speed double bass groove and those typical heavy guitar-Riffs and high speed twin leads that Primal Fear stands for. Above all it's that mix between full throttle metal and melody with Ralf Scheepers powerful vocals on which Primal Fear built their reputation.
Six Times Dead (16.6) – the title track and a super heavy guitar riff, stomping groove with a new approach and a message to the fans; 100% Primal Fear!
Black Rain – a nearly 7min. epic with big instrumentation, and a heavy Arabian atmosphere. Lots of variations and sophisticated playing & singing. This song strongly carries the handwriting of the new band member Magnus Karlsson, who is known for these skilful and tasty arrangements.
Under The Radar – another traditional Primal Fear speed rocker, a hymn with the classic Scheepers vibe.
Torn – seven minutes of pure music and the most ambitioned song & riff we've ever recorded, killer stuff, very groovy and a great melodic vocal line.
Soar – pure energy combined with a driving groove, a majestic halftime chorus and a great experimental breakdown part – one of my favourite tracks on the new album.
Hands Of Time – this will be a real surprise for everybody. There is always at least one track on a new PF album, that is different – this time it's Hands Of Time with four guys sharing the lead vocals – a very cool song!

We will shoot the video clip on February Friday 13th for the titletrack of the album "Six Times Dead (16.6)" - more news on the song titles, running order, cover artwork, video clip & tour activities soon! Stay tuned - May 2009

December 23rd, 2008 - Review 2008!
The Year 2008 – great music, new inspiration, many new options and some of my views changed.......
The year started with a goodbye to Stefan. Even it was not like a shock out of the blue and we were all prepared for this moment, it just hurts after rocking nearly for 10 years side by side .... and Stefan is a great character. There's one chance - you can try make the best out of this situation and look for some new blood with a different background. Magnus Karlsson was just like a lucky punch for Primal Fear .....

One of the best experiences in my entire career took place in April/May 2009 – the new Sinner recordings Crash & Burn! All the songwriting sessions was just fun, as I wrote songs for this album together with Igor Gianola, Magnus Karlsson & of course my partner in crime Henny Wolter. We recorded at the House Of Music studio with our touring line up and for the first time with engineer Dennis Ward, even we know us as musicians since ages..... great vibe, no discussions, just rock – wonderful and the final result is just the Sinner album I’ve always wanted to record. Thanks to Klaus, Henny & Christof for a great time – I hope we can come up with the same kind of vibe next year!

Later this sping, I played bass in the studio for Alex Beyrodt’s new band „Voodoo Circle“ and in the same time for the new „Driver“ album and my friends Rob Rock & Roy Z. plus I wrote the titletrack for the new Vengeance album "Soul Collector"
Primal Fear 10 Years Anniversary Tour was just great.... the most touching moment was as Stefan & Klaus joined the band at the show @ the H2O – Magnus proved that he’s not only agreat songwriter and guitarist – NO – he’s a fantatsic performer and a sensational combination with Henny! This was a new dimension for Primal Fear on all shows and the following 16 festival appearances with highlights like Sweden Rock, Bestfest, Bloodstock or Summer Breeze
Höör , Sweden– was the place we laid the foundation for the new Primal Fear album. Magnus owns a nice house with a recording studio at a lake in the south of Sweden. Henny, Magnus & me had a very creative & magic week @ Magnus studio, followed by two more shows with Primal Fear for the first time in Russia. Especially the show in Moscow was incredible with a fantastic & loud audience!

My new project ..... in January08 I met my friend Alex Scholpp again and as always we’ve talked about writing and recording some songs together, but this time it was for real and we needed just some more months to realize a new project or better – to form a new band and write a soundtrack together for "My Final Day". Together with my former Shiva brother and Ex-Leaves Eyes & Atrocity drummer Martin Schmidt, we worked very hard over the summer on a strategy and modern musical direction for this new band. Joining us is singer Nena Schock (Sincezero), in the meantime one of my closest friends in real life and Timo from the band “Mindead“. I really love this band and it’s just a nice fresh breeze in my musical life. We will continue in early 2009 with our recordings & more songwriting!

Voodoo Circle received a lot of good feedback by the media, and we signed a deal with AFM Records for a December 08 release. The new band by guitarist Alex Beyrodt has a lot of potential. With Simple Minds drummer Mel Gaynor and PC69 singer David Readman plus keyboarder extraordinaire Jimmy Kresic, a hell of a Line-Up with cool musicians. The music is just classic rock with a lot of attitude. Let’s wait what will happen next year with some sonic shows!

SINNER was ready to go on tour again in November and for the first time in 10 years we came back to the stages of Spain and Italy. The band could keep their great spirit and rocked every entire night like it was just for the last time! We had a bar on stage instead of a side-drop built by my friend Tommy and behind the bar was stage-manager Neil Witchard to sing backing vocals and serve some special drinks for the ladies. This was not only a concert, it was entertainment for the band AND the fans and 80 minutes of total mayhem, fun, spirit & attitude! Crash & Burn!

Primal Fear entered the studio straight after the Sinner tour and even there was not a lot of time to recover, we had a main target – after all the trouble at the New Religion recordings, we want to do a lot of things different this time! We worked a lot on the pre production this time, even we were always on tour, but finally it was just the right vision. .... Maybe it is not a wise decision to record music with over 80 minutes playtime in these days, but we were just in a great spirit and very well prepared. The recordings were totaly different this time – creative, smooth, rocking, focused and always peaceful – the first part of this creation of an new album is already done and we’re damn proud of the result. Primal Fear will go 3 steps back to their Nuclear Fire roots and another two steps ahead ....... real metal, but we would not be known as Primal Fear if we wouldn’t have some real surprises in our pockets – we will continue to work on the album, we will call 16.6 (Before The Devil Knows You’re Dead!) on January 5th with Dennis Ward and this time again with longtime friend Achim Koehler. The album will be released in May 2009 and a extensive touring will follow in 2009 soon after the release!

November 06th, 2008 - Latest NEWS!
The start of the SINNER tour is coming closer and we will meet on Sunday for the last preparations and drive together to Spain to play the first show in Barcelona on Tuesday!
Everything is prepared so far. Great crew, great guys on board and a nice setlist, based on a lot of new Crash & Burn songs and of course some classic tracks plus some surprises! I'm looking forward to rock again with 'The Fabolous Sinner Four' ;-) - we've added a special guest band to the tour - GUN BARREL will open the shows and be there when they start their set - cool band!

PRIMAL FEAR 16.6 - we've cut the Primal Fear song list for the 16.6 recordings from 20 to 15 songs last weekend, as we played the final shows of the year. Thanks to Hammerfall's Joacim for inviting us and the guys & promoters in Switzerland - cool show!
Back to the 16.6 songs .... it will be a heavy decision which final 12 songs we will record for the new album! We're all so excited of the material, that we could record easily a double album! But anyway, we have to make our decision soon. We will finally start tracking the drums, on November 26th @ The House Of Music studios near Stuttgart, with engineers Dennis Ward and Achim Koehler. We're already talking to the promoters in various territories about the next world tour and some very special events in 2009 in support of the 16.6. release!

MY FINAL DAY - we've recorded some more vocals on the songs and the project is shaping up fantastic - wow, to be honest I'm really excited and I had the same kinda feeling as we started Primal Fear in'98. We're working on some more vocal lines these days and we will go back to finish the vocals all 3 singers in January incl. Nena's lines and our new guy Timo from Mindead. Later maestro Alex Scholpp has to record some crazy lead guitars and Martin has to finalize his drums, before we can mix the first five songs and present the soundtrack to the public!

VOODOO CIRCLE release dates are finalized now: Japan Nov. 22nd (King Records) - Germany Dec. 5th, RO Europe Dec. 7th (AFM Records) - expect some acivities from Voodoo Circle to be announced soon!

I'm working on a brandnew look for my Website and make it even more crazy and easier to communicate. I hope I can publish the brand new MatSinner.Com page in December! At the moment, I can highly reccomend the new HINDER album "Take It To The Limit" and I'm still listening a lot to the new Shinedown album. Just finished reading another killer book by my favorite Jean-Christophe Grange called "Flight of the Storks" and I will start reading Nick Hornby's "A Long Way Down" (thanks :-) - that's my update for today - enjoy your life!

Hope to see you all on tour during the next days, some chats & some drinks!

October 15th, 2008 - NEWS Update!
Yes it's time for a big update, because too many things happened and will happen during the next months! Let's start with a sincere THANK YOU  to everybody for giving the new SINNER album such a great feedback! Please use the ticket service on this page for the forthcoming shows in Germany & Switzerland to buy your tickets! It's great to bring the Crash & Burn songs and of course some Sinner classics to the road and it's so cool to come back to Spain & Italy after such a long time! Let's have a big party, some drinks & Born To Rock! I've uploaded some full new Sinner songs on my official My Space Page, if you haven't listened to some new songs yet ;) and here's a new interview from Powermetal.De in German

Last week, we could finalize the last parts for the forthcoming VOODOO CIRCLE album, the new band put together by my good friend Alex Beyrodt, with PC69 singer David Readman, Simple Minds drummer Mel Gaynor and keyboarder Jimmy Kresic. AFM Records will release our debut album on December 04th and if you like classic rock in the Rainbow/Purple vibe, you have to check out this album - you can already listen to some soundfiles here - Voodoo Circle on My Space!

Primal Fear is busy with arranging and pre-producing the final songs for the forthcoming album - working title 16.6 (Before The Devil Knows You're Dead!) - everybody is thrilled about the so far 16 songs, we really can't believe it! Our guitar dream team is all fired up and Magnus adds a new dimension to our songwriting. And even this time, we can promise another modification in the Primal Fear sound, a surprising album with some very new elements and a lot of real back to the roots Primal Fear metal! We will start to record at the end of November '08 until January '09 with the plan to release the album in late May 2009 on Frontiers Records and their partners! Watch out for some more updates on the songs, team & touring plans in the next couple of weeks!

If this is not enough, I can report about a very new project, we've started some days ago. I always want to start a project with my good friend and guitarist extraordinaire Alex Scholpp (Tarja, Farmer Boys, Dacia), but our both schedules were too busy during the last years and even now. But we've received an offer to write some music for the forthcoming apocalyptic movie MY FINAL DAY and this was our now or never wake-up call! Joining us are former Atrocity drummer Martin Schmidt and Nena Schock on vocals. We've recorded four songs so far and we're working with an additional singer now. The music is groovy, brutal, modern ..... something different and we have a great vibe in the band! Watch out for first photos and soundfiles from the MY FINAL DAY project soon!

More plans for 2009 ..... aside I'm working with some great artists on their new video clips (more new reg. this later), I have plans to work on a new edition of my book, released on Dec. 2006 as The Book Of Seven Seals, this time as an international version with a lot of updates and new stories under the working title SIX TIMES DEAD!

........ and last not least some music I'm listening at the moment - strange, but amazing songs are coming from Del Amitri 's singerJustin Curries first solo album What Is Love For. Then I can highly recommend the new Shinedown album - The Sound Of Madness .... till the next time!

Great metal with some real surprises! On Friday we will fly to Russia for the first time with Primal Fear. Really looking forward to these concerts and meet the fans! Please check my My Space page for a new sample of the forthcoming album Crash & Burn and don't forget - the album will be released on Friday or maybe Monday in other European countries! Here are two more nice reviews in German language from the mighty Rock Hard magazine and Nuclear Blast web:

ilence) neben getragen-harmonischen Thin Lizzy-Reminiszenzen (Heart Of Darkness, Connection) oder stampfenden Hymnen wie Like A Rock.

August 20th, 2008 - BW&BK Review & "Crash & Burn" US Release Date!
News for our fans in the US - Crash & Burn will be released in the US on November 25th 2008 by Candlelight Records

SINNER - Crash And Burn by Mark Gromen BW&BK
The latest from Mat Sinner, surrounding himself with past and present members of his other employer, Primal Fear, is a collection of eleven, straight ahead blues-based hard rock and metal tunes (an extra pair on the digi-pak). At times his intonations mimic those of the late Phil Lynott, who also pulled double duty on bass and vocals. Check out ‘Connection’ and ‘Unbreakable’, whose lyric seem an ode to the late Thin Lizzy frontman. Air raid sirens announce the introductory title track, a fast mover and the disc’s heaviest moment, although ‘Fist To Face’ gives it a run for its money, on both accounts. On the opposite extreme is the mid-tempo acoustic begun ‘Until It Hurts’. Tambourine, cowbell and cock-rock strut characterize the female backed ‘Revolution’. Talk about cock-rock, check out the tongue-in-cheek ‘Little Head’. Fun diversion.

Stay tuned for some more news soon incl. the official release of the first single THE DOG online - plus two killer bonus tracks! We will update you soon, where you can download the tracks over the weekend!

August 08th, 2008 - Breakout Review "Crash & Burn" !
Chris Glaub/Breakout 4/2008

May 12th, 2008 - The Fabulous Sinner Four & A Journey To Kurim!
Primal Fear’s show at the Rockfest in Kurim was cancelled, because Ralf hat a bad cold and a laryngitis. He couldn’t even speak last Wednesday and he's still taking very strong medicaments. The only offer we could make to the organizers was to check the Sinner guys, show faith and play a show, be there and give the fans a good time! Of course, the flight tickets for Henny, Mat & the crew were already booked. Klaus & Christof agreed to travel with us and we arrived together on Saturday 13h in Vienna Airport. The shuttle broke down on the way to Vienna and we had a lot of time to drink a lot of coffees. Achim was permanently on the phone with the local dudes in Brno and after even a longer time, the shuttle dude arrived and took us to Kurim .... Formula 1 style ;)
We arrived in Kurim after another 2hrs drive. The stage looked cool, fans were great and the locals organizers were doing a good job. The hotel was just around the corner and we had some great steaks and prepared for the show – Showtime 23h – after our alltime classic Introduction „Gravyard Symphony“ our backline genius „The“ Neil Witchard entered the stage and introduced the band. Watch a fan filmed clip on You Tube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rPvoOlo4JgU

Mat is enjoying the drumsolo of Klaus!
We started the set with Sammy’s „One Way o Rock“ .... well and Henny’s amp was exploding during Comin'Out Fighting. Our other great technician Kalle was fast like hell and within 30 seconds we got another amp running – bad enough, only with one channel. Well, that’s the reality & rock’n roll. We played following set incl. one song from the forthcoming album „Revolution“ – it was cool to see & hear how great this song was received by the crowd!

1. Introduction
2. One Way To Rock
3. Comin’ Out Fighting
4. When Silence Falls
5. Born To Rock
6. Badlands
7. Are You Ready
8. Henny Guitar Solo
9. Knife In My Heart
10. The Other Side
11. Judgement Day
12. Klaus Drumsolo
13. Danger Zone
14. Germany Rocks (Kurim Rocks)
15. Rebel Yell
Encores: Revolution & Satisfied

We had an unexpected great weekend, great fans, very friendly local promoters! Thanks to Achim, Kalle & Neil for their endless support & help!
Henny, Christof, Klaus & Mat

March 04th, 2008 - Primal Fear News & More!
Well, sometimes live is confusing me. Always up & downs, always changes, always huge mountains to climb. A change can open a creative new door, but it is a sad moment too. Stefan was standing for 10 years on my side and I will miss him. Most important, that we split up in a friendly way and will stay friends. On the other side, I have a lot of respect regarding Stefans decision. In the middle of preparing with Sinner for a show and the new recordings, this move was of course not unexpected, but now we're looking forward for a new chapter of Primal Fear. We worked on some projects with Magnus Karlsson from Sweden. He was chosen to be the main guitar player on Ralf's forthcoming solo album. Then we wrote some cool tracks together in the past and 3 stunning tracks for the new Sinner album. After days of discussions, we've decided for a new face with a new background and of course we're not going the easy way! As Stefan said, it is not a goodbye forever and there's always an open door for him! Now welcome Magnus on the forthcoming tour!

Here's the official announcement from www.primalfear.de:
We’ve decided to continue with one of the most exciting and respected guitar player in the business - Magnus Karlsson from Sweden. Magnus is known from his excellent work as a guitarist, songwriter and producer for Allen/Lande, Magnum’s Bob Catley, Starbreaker and many more. We’re looking forward to hit the road again with a special Best Of setlist and Magnus will be an additional attraction for the shows.

Singer Ralf Scheepers comments: "After working together with Magnus on several songs for our previous albums „Seven Seals“ and “New Religion”, it’s more than a pleasure to have him in the band now. In my ears he is one of the most talented guitarists on this planet and he is also an excellent composer. I absolutely look forward to rock the stages of this world with him!
Magnus Karlsson added: "I’ve been a big fan of Primal Fear since I first heard them. I love their straight forward metal in combination with beautiful melodies and a world class musicianship. That’s why I’m both honoured and excited to join Primal Fear on their mission to show the world that Metal is forever!"
It looks like we’re planning to get back into the recording studio after the summer festival season to work on a new album!

Dear Primal Fear fans,
after 10 years being in Primal Fear I have decided to take a time out from the music business for some time. I do this for my family, especially for my two little sons, who deserve to have more time together with their father. Of course this is no easy decision, even if I know this is the right one. I leave the guys from Primal Fear in friendship and want to thank them at this point for their understanding and supporting me in this decision.I also want to thank you fans for a wonderful time during the last years! I say goodbye to you, having in mind, that this will NOT be a goodbye forever!
Best regards,
Stefan
Please notice, that both Stefan Leibing and Klaus Sperling will perform with Primal Fear at the 10 years anniversary concert in Reichenbach @ H2O and will be on stage for some special songs incl. a meet & greet. This will be a very emotional and unique moment for us all!

Well, live goes on - I'm leaving now to record some bass tracks for my friends Roy Z: & Rob Rock for their forthcoming DRIVER album at Achim Koehlers studio - talk to you soon, Mat

Febuary 15th, 2008 - Crash & Burn Update!
We will update the SINNER section on this page from time to time with news and updates regarding the Making Of Crash & Burn, with comments of the musicians and inside news. Check it out! New songtitles and the production plan is already updated!

January 19th, 2008 - Crash & Burn, News & Updates!
Well,we can announce one of the rare SINNER shows today and it's already around the corner. The band will appear on March 8th at the Komma, Esslingen/Germany to kick ass @ the 3rd ROW Festival, a now traditional and established charity festival, organized by some close friends incl. former Sinner drummer Ralf Schulz. Check out their website here!

In other news, the songwriting for SINNERs new album "Crash & Burn" is in full swing. A first songwriting session with Henny Wolter was unbelievable creative and we wrote some cool stuff, with a smile on our faces and a great foundation for more forthcoming sessions. Klaus & Christof are writing too at the moment. Next week, my friend Igor Gianola (UDO etc.) is coming to my studio, because we have some cool ideas for the new Sinner album and I'm writing with Ronny Milianowicz & company again. The target is loud & clear - the new SINNER album and the first for AFM Records will be a steaming, rocking and very traditional heavy rock album! We plan to start the recordings in late March for a September 2008 release! Later this month In addition, I will record some bass tracks for Alex Beyrodt's first solo album!

And as you think, there's a well deserved break for Primal Fear after 3 months of touring, you're wrong :-) - as promised earlier, we're working hard on our ten years anniversary tour, called "10 Years Of Metal" - it will be around one week with very special concerts, a special setlist and a big party! As all Metal Commando dudes asked us - yes, there will be a show in Reichenbach again! Stay tuned for more information & updates soon!

December 28th, 2007 - Primal Fear Tour, the end of 2007 review & more!
It’s the end of 2007 and we were on tour until Xmas. To be compared with 2006, the year 2007 will enter the books as a great one! The only early downer (the boot for Tom in PF) was re-energized with the wonderful comeback of Henny. New Religion was a monster of a production and I’ve learnt a lot new things again, not only on the musical part! It was great to hit the road again with SINNER and play a little tour incl. a gig with Thin Lizzy and a furious show at the Headbangers OA. The new deal with AFM Records was the final goal of a nice comeback.
The most exciting moment of the year was the release of the new Primal Fear album. With new partners all over the world, it was very unshure, if we can match the numbers of our final Nuclear Blast album Seven Seals. Fair enough, we did! Well, the fans are very self-willed, especially in the metal scene. This is one of the main factors, why this scene is much alive and well against all odds. It was a huge satisfaction as our former (strange to say) A&R Andy told me, that we’ve charted on Pos. 60 in Germany, followed some days later by more chart entries. And the album will be still released in the US on January 29th, 2008 – another important day!
The show @ the ProgPower festival in Atlanta was an unforgettable event incl. the circumstances and the signing session. It was great to play the new songs on stage and Henny gave the band a new positive vibe. Even as Stefan couldn’t play with us Part 1+2 of the shows in Europe, we stuck together and Alex Beyrodt executed a fantastic performance every night! One of the most electrifying moments was the show in Bordeaux, as Henny had to fly home, because his baby was born at the night of the Barcelona show, we decided to play as a four piece for the first time in our history and the show unbelievable good! Japan was exciting as always with a unique organization, the best catering in the world and insane fans! The final 9 concerts took place in Germany and first of all, we have to say, we’re proud of the German fans for their loyalty and support. Every venue was packed! My personal highlights were the shows in Helsinki, Bergara, Bordeaux, Antwerp & Tokyo!
…… and who’s interested in the weird taste of Mat Sinner – here are the most played 5 Songs on my iPod:
1. Sixx A.M. – Van Nuys
2. Fuel – Halos Of The Sun
3. Dolores O’Riordan – Ordinary Day
4. Keith Urban – Nobody Drinks Alone
5. Heinz Strunk – Die Zugansage

Top Music DVD 2007 – Sammy Hagar – Livin’ It Up In St. Louis
Top Movie of 2007 – I Am Legend
Top TV Show – Prison Break

The plans for some more concerts next year are in full swing and aside of all foreign concerts, we plan another handful of very special shows, regarding our 10 years anniversary. Stay tuned and have a great 2008, love, peace & rock'n roll, Mat

PRIMAL FEAR - Fighting The Darkness

September 17th, 2007 - Former SINNER Guitarist On Tour With PRIMAL FEAR & New Videoclip!
Because of important family obligations, guitarist Stefan Leibing cannot play all shows of the forthcoming
UDO / PRIMAL FEAR Double Headlinertour. His substitute is a well-known face - Primal Fear could recruit well known guitarslinger Alex Beyrodt for the European dates. Alex was part of the Primal Fear touring band in 1999/2000 b/w the Jaws Of Death tour and longtime guitarist in SINNER. Stefan Leibing will play the co-headlining show at the Prog Power festival in Atlanta/USA. Alex will play his first show with PF on Oct. 13th, 2007 in Geleen/Netherlands. Stefan will be back with the band for the forthcoming Japan Tour im early December.

PRIMAL FEAR's new album NEW RELIGION will be released in Europe and other parts of the world on September 21st/24th - another reason to announce the premiere of the second video clip from the new album. We will premiere the newest video clip of the New Religion album SIGN OF FEAR on Thursday Sept. 20th!

June 18th, 2007 - SINNER sign new deal with AFM Records! AFM Records are proud to announce the signing of SINNER, the legendary German metal oufit led by Mat Sinner. Right before their headlining appearance at this year's Headbanger's Open Air in Hamburg, the band signed a long term deal and paving the way for what promises to be a very successful cooperation.

Comments Mat Sinner: "It's of course awesome that our new start with SINNER [with this year's "Mask Of Sanity" album after a 3-year-break] received so much praise from fans and media alike. To continue this with a long term deal with AFM Records is even better! We're very proud of this deal, and eager to write and procude a killer new album with this line-up. I'm looking forward to working with my friend Markus Wosgien (A&R at AFM Records) and everyone else from the AFM crew."

SINNER just completed a successful European headlining tour (supported by Vengeance) for their current release "Mask Of Sanity". A new studio album, the AFM debut is planned for fall, 2008, tentatively entitled Crash & Burn.

Henny Wolter, Klaus Sperling, Christof Leim, Mat Sinner & Markus Wosgien

June 07th, 2007 - Gallery Update!
Brandnew Photos from the SINNER Show with
THIN LIZZY are online now in the Gallery section!

May 23rd 2007 - It's Official: PRIMAL FEAR Reloaded!

Henny Wolter is back in Primal Fear!

After a long discussion about the future of Primal Fear, we've decided to bring Henny back to the band. After a four year break, Henny takes over the guitar duties together with Stefan Leibing, who played most of the guitars on the new album "NEW RELIGION".

We decided us against a brandnew face, because Henny is back ready & smoking. Henny's departure 4 years ago was in a very friendly way and the guys stayed in contact during his abscence. Henny did a fantastic job on the new Primal Fear recordings and the following SINNER tour.

We are proud to have the riff master from Hannover back in our ranks. Henny will make his comeback with the band on June 30th at the next Primal Fear Show! Welcome Back, Henny!

And here's one more schocking shot from the forthcoming PF video clip "Fighting The Darkness"

May 21sth, 2007 - Kirchheim Show abgesagt!

so long,
Klaus, Henny, Christof & Mat

October 06th, 2006 - 'Mask Of Sanity' Update
Close to the edge ..... after an unbeliveable week of music, the recordings will come to an end shortly. After Primal Fear's Ralf Scheepers laid down some emotional backing vocals on Monday, Mystc Prophecy's Martin Grimm played a duelling lead guitar with Tom on the mystery track of the album. During the week, we practised the SINNER live show and decided to play a full retro show, with a lot of surprising classic tracks, even Tom & Mat didn't play for a long long time! Be prepared for a roaring Saturday!

Today was an even more exciting day at the Leon Studio. Tom finalized his guitars on the album and everyone who could listen to the songs so far, certified Tom the best guitar work he'd ever tracked down on an album so far! Christof Leim, who will join SINNER on the second lead guitar at the show in Reichenbach, Germany this Saturday, played additional lead guitar on the song "Last Men Standing". Finally Brainstorm's Andy B. Franck joined the party and sung some fantastic backing vocals on three songs, plus a little lead vocal part in the song "Thunderroar". Just a little riddle - what have these four guys, rocking today the Leon Studio in common. Write your answers to: info@levelten.de and the winner will receive an exclusive SINNER CD album from Japan (never released in Europe!). From left to right: Tom, Christof, Andy & Mat

September 28th, 2006 - New Video Clip Online!
Check out the new videoclip by Katja Piolka for the Sinner song "Die On Command" by clicking HERE!

September 25th, 2006 - 'Mask Of Sanity' Update and Breaking News!
Day 16 in the Leon Studio and a former or ex-holy day for us! Over the weekend, we've finialized all basic guitars and bass guitar, even more Mat finished today the 5th song with lead & backing vocals and Tom added his lead & harmony guitar on the 5 songs titled: 'The Other Side', 'Black', 'Diary Of Evil' (co-written by Roy Z.), 'Under The Gun' and 'Badlands' (co-written by Ronny Milianowicz). We will take a little break from the studio and headline the UKs mighty Bloodstock festival with "Primal Fear" on Friday! Here are the news or better some changes we've reported in the last posting. Christof Leim of The Traceelords will take over the position of the second guitarist in SINNER at the event in Reichenbach/Germany on Oct 7th 2006 - please give Christof him a warm welcome!

September 17th, 2006 - Studio in Metal Mode!
Today we finished the 7th song with basic guitars and bass guitar. It smoked & steamed in the control room. Not only the tropic temperatures rocked, Tom's handful of monster guitar riffs drove em to a critical point ...... another 5 songs to go to finish the basic tracks, but the entire studio was in full metal mode today! We will make an announcement about some personal news during the next week. So far enjoy the studio madness and the handsigns changed from thumbs up, to metal plus one more!

September 14th, 2006 - Studio Update!
Klaus finished his drum tracks for the new album bw for 12 new tracks. As 11 tracks were planned to record (as a homage to Tom's amp), but we've added a cover version of one of our favourtite songwriters at the very last minute. As Roy said "I smell the taste of fresh Guinness" ..... let's see, if the result will be a killer, but we're very positive and had a lot of fun to record the drums for the song! Overall the new songtitles are just working titles at the moment and we don't want to publish them too early, regarding some changes here. Now it's time for roaring guitars and pounding bass, but we need definitely more cowbell

August 30th, 2006 - A Sad Day In The History Of Primal Fear, Sinner & the German metal scene!
Our fan, friend and brother Klaus Schmidt lost his long battle against the demon of cancer yesterday! Again an example, that the good guys die too young. We will be at sacred ground In Dublin on Friday during his funeral and we will dedicate our entire show in memory of Klaus! We will miss you - Ralf, Stefan, Tom, Randy & Mat

Our target is to recreate the vibe of the classic Sinner albums, combined with the sound of 2006. Everybody is really excited to start the recordings. Aside of the band, some songs were written together with my songwriting guru Ronny Milianowicz, btw who became a proud dad last week.

Finally, I am excited to collaborate with my partner in crime and one of the most respected guys in this business on one new song – Roy Z. First, we talked about this project in November, as we played together Brazil. But now it looks like we could realize it and one of the major songs of the upcoming album “Mask Of Smiles”, due out On January 19th, 2007 will be the start of this new collaboration!
